The idea to develop a set of mood boards made of thematic shots for each building was to recontextualize the vernacular Balinese architecture and promote tropical ambiences with lush greenery; therefore, a design research was initially carried out to define the architectural vocabulary within the entire complex and to accordingly establish a project library with all the relevant details like (doors, windows, handrails, columns, towers and roofs). which helped in crossing the threshold into the priliminary design phase.

Shadow casting is the most characteristic feature that influences tropical architecture; where big thatched roofs, cascading shaded terraces, garden ponds, exotic aquatic plants and heavy vegitation, are all set to soothe the torrid climate.
